Saraswati Puja Also Known As Shree Panchami Or Basanta Panchami Is One Of The Greatest Festival Of Hindus. It Is Mostly Celebrated In Nepal, India And Other Part Of The World. Basanta Panchami Is The Day When Winter Ends And Spring Starts. Vasant Panchami Falls In January-February (Magh - Fagun).  We Worship Goddess Saraswati In This Day. Saraswati Is A Four-Handed Hindu Goddess, Seated On A White Lotus. Her Bahaan (Vehicle) Is A White Swan. She Holds the Veena (A Plucked String Instrument), A Book And A Garland In Her Hands. Saraswati Is One Of The Greatest Creation Of Lord Bhrama. She Is Believed To Be The Most Beautiful Creation Of Brahma. She Is Also Known For Knowledge, Learning, Art And Music.

 

The day is very auspicious day. This is the day many kids are asked to read and write first letter of their life.  It Is A Belief That The Goddess Of Education Saraswati Will Help Them Excel In Education. Normally students wear new dress on this day. They pray the goddess for wisdom; they also offer flowers to the deity and sing the prayer-song in her honor. Another remarkable feature of the Puja is the breaking of coconuts in front of the deity. The Prasad is shared by the students, teachers and the guests.Students worship books, pens, notebooks and other instruments. Musician worship his/her instruments. Professionals worship their tools. In one sentence, this is the day when the source of knowledge, art and education are worshiped.

Since this day is believes to be very good and auspicious people get married, start new business and start new venture in this day.
